Heidentum ist eine Religion, die das ganze Leben umfaßt, es ist aber keine politische Partei. Sektenpfarrer, die Nachfolger der Inquisition, versuchen immer wieder, das Heidentum in die Nähe des Faschismus zu rücken. Die Heidnische Gemeinschaft spricht sich deutlich gegen alle totalitären Herrschaftsformen, gegen Faschismus und Rassismus, aus und verlangt dieses auch von ihren Mitgliedern.

Heidentum bedingt eine direkte Demokratie, die sogar noch über unsere "Stellvertreter"-Demokratie hinausgeht. Heiden folgen darin ihren Göttern, die ebenfalls im Thing ihre Entscheidungen gemeinsam beraten und abstimmen. Heidnische Gemeinwesen sind entsprechend organisiert: Jedes Dorf hat sein eigenes Dorfthing, auf dem die Bewohner alle Entscheidungen selbst fällen - ohne Politiker als Vertreter. Noch heute gibt es in einigen Schweizer Kantonen solche Thingversammlungen.

In der Heidnischen Gemeinschaft wirken Menschen und Gruppen für Naturerhaltung und Naturachtung unabhängig von ihrer sonstigen demokratischen politischen Einstellung mit.

Heathenism is a religious form which includes all aspects of human life, but it is not a political institution. A minority within the Christian church as successors to the Inquisition, continue to try to associate Heathenism with Nazism. In fact, the Fascists had totalitarian ideas which were derived from the hierarchy of the monotheistic religion. The Christian idea of the kingdom of heaven, ruled by an all-powerful God, was turned into the idea of an all-powerful Führer. Heathenism had many tribes, and not a totalitarian ruler, but various froms of democratic rule. The Heathen Community rejects every kind of totalitary dominion just as fascism and racism and also demand this from their members.
Heathenism implicates a more direct form of democracy beyond our representativ democracy.
Heathens following in this there Gods and Goddesses. They have also to discuss and to vote in there Thing about all necessary things. Heathen communitys are organized in this way, every village has an own Thing, where the people of the village discuss and decide on all things. Still today such Thingassemblies are existing in some swiss cantons.
The Heathen Community also supports any groups or individuals who are working for the preservation of the natural environment, regardless their political affiliation.
